Who is Jake Morrison?
Jake Morrison is the pen name used by the A to Z Fitness editorial team. We sign our recipes and guides with one name so you always hear one consistent voice. Jake is not a real individual, a doctor or a registered dietitian, and we never claim credentials we don’t have. The illustration above is a drawn avatar, not a photo.
What we publish
- High-protein recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, most of them under 500 calories per serving.
- Meal-prep guides that batch-cook a week of lunches or breakfasts in about an hour.
- Home workouts for beginners, with no gym and little equipment.
How we build every recipe
- Nutrition from official data. Calories, protein, carbs and fat are calculated from USDA FoodData Central, per serving, using the ingredient weights listed in the recipe.
- Everyday ingredients. We favor foods you can find in any US grocery store: Greek yogurt, eggs, chicken, lean turkey, beans, lentils, tofu and cottage cheese.
- Clear and repeatable. Each recipe lists prep time, servings, macros, substitutions and common allergens.
- Checked against trusted sources. General guidance on protein and weight loss references public health sources such as the USDA, the NIH, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Mayo Clinic.
- Updated when needed. When a reader spots an error or the data changes, we fix the article and update its date.
The limits of our advice
A to Z Fitness shares general information for healthy adults. It is not medical advice and it does not replace a doctor, a registered dietitian or a certified trainer. Nutrition values are estimates and vary with brands and portions. If you are pregnant, have kidney disease, diabetes, an eating disorder or any medical condition, or take medication, talk to a health professional before changing your diet or starting a new workout. Read our full Disclaimer and Editorial Policy.
How the site is funded
The site is free to read and is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense). Ads never decide which recipes we publish or how we rate ingredients.
